Position's Contributions to Work Group:

Provide primary customer support and administration for software solutions in our learning ecosystem and support software integration team as needed.

 

Typical Day:

Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer you will apply expertise in computer application development, configuration, automated testing and deployment.

This role has a keen eye toward the use of tools in the entire software delivery process.

Some of the tools used are coding testing tools, configuration management tools, continuous integration tools, or post-deployment testing tools. Configuration management applies not only to the source code for the service but also all of the input for the various tools.

The DevOps Engineer role is responsible for the automation and care and feeding of the various tools used in the DevOps toolchain.

Deploy code and maintain development and production environments per Change Manager.

Work with Application Delivery teams and Reliability Engineer to resolve any post deployment issues.

Work closely with the application development and QA teams providing guidance and developing solutions to achieve continuous delivery.

Work with application delivery teams and operations to develop plans to minimize the impact of system or procedure changes relative to the build pipeline.

Introduce new technologies and develop standard practices for the build pipeline.

The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.

Based on past experiences and knowledge, the incumbent normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results.
