Job Title: Embedded Software Developer
Location: Detroit, MI
Duration: Long Term.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for programming and software development using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks, reviewing code written by other programmers, requirement gathering, bug fixing, testing, documenting and implementing software systems. Experienced programmers are also responsible for interpreting architecture and design, code reviews, mentoring, guiding and monitoring programmers, ensuring adherence to programming and documentation policies, software development, testing and release.
a. 8-12 years of experience in Embedded software development, at least 2 years of experience in automotive domain is mandatory
b. Actively prepare and participate in the backlog refinement sessions and improve the teams estimations on work packages at hand/foreseen. Ensure all architectural/design related work is taken into account and documented.
c. Review all code changes, adhere to coding standards and open source policy,
d. Actively participate in SW-DFMEA for software in new projects.
e. Monitor the progress and quality of team results (designs and implementation) and initiate corrective actions when needed.
f. Contribute to management of the development resources (e.g., coaching, appraisals, and other feedback).
g. Has good working experience of Agile methodology
h. Deliver software of high quality without any regression.
Specialized/Practical Knowledge
1. Good hands on experience in C++ - MUST
2 Good Linux or Android knowledge - MUST
3. Experience in embedded SW development - MUST
4. Experience in UI development & Understanding of design on HMI level (MVC, MVVM) – MUST
5. Integration of SW components – MUST
6. Doing designs of bigger applications
7. Experience on projects like openGL, games, set top boxes etc.
8. Ability to drive the team on a technical level
9. Communicate effectively with teams in other locations
10. Experience in development of Navigation software
11. Good Debugging skills
12. Automotive Domain experience
13. Estimation, Controlling, Monitoring,
14. Coverity / any other Static code analysis tool
15. Knowledge of JIRA
