Under broad supervision, the QA Tester/Analyst will drive the overall QA planning/tracking and reporting for project(s), as well as execution of test lifecycle deliverables per standard methodology and procedures to ensure successful Test Strategy/plan implementation for the Georgia Dept. of Transportation (GDOT).   • Collaborate with internal customers, prospects, and stakeholders to understand and translate business use cases and requirements into data analysis and data mapping.
  • Develop data integration routines that involve moving, cleansing, and transforming large amounts of data between multiple systems.
  • Identify data sources, provide data flow diagrams, and document source-to-target mapping and processes.
  • Work with the Data Architect to recommend optimal data models for data ingestion and collaborate with the BI developer for analytic reports.
  • Provide technical enablement to team members developing database applications on a cloud platform.
  • Lead small teams of 1-2 junior developers in data integration efforts, utilizing ETL design patterns, error handling, and configurations.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes, etc.) and database security.
  • Utilize Azure database tools and technologies, including Azure Data Studio and Azure Analytics Studio,to develop, maintain, and optimize database applications and solutions1.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and domain experts to adopt best practices in reporting and analysis, ensuring data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.
  • Optimize batch processing through parallelization and performance tuning to maintain data warehouse performance.
  • Establish processes for governing the identification, collection, and use of educational metadata to ensure accuracy and validity in business intelligence environments.
  • Ensure data quality through audit controls, proactive monitoring, and data cleansing techniques.
  • Troubleshoot performance and reliability issues and investigate anomalous behavior in the Azure environment.
  • Perform scheduled data process integrity checks, deployments, and coordinate releases.
  • Utilize source version control software like GitHub and CICD pipelines.
  • Provide on-call support after hours as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • 5+ years in BI development leveraging Microsoft SQL Server, with expertise in T-SQL.
  • 5+ years in SSIS and use of stored procedures.
  • 3-5 years in Azure Data Factory, SQL VMs, and ETL development.
  • Experience in ingesting and aggregating data from internal and external sources to build a data lake.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical model design) and experience with operational data stores, enterprise data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Deep understanding of relational database design concepts and SQL programming.

·        Experience in guiding and mentoring developers with less experience.

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with business intelligence and data warehousing design principles and industry best practices.

 

Good to Have:

  • 1-2 years in Azure Data Warehouse (Synapse).
  • 1-2 years of experience utilizing Python, PySpark, and SparkSQL on Azure Cloud.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in computer science or management information systems AND 5 years of related experience.

However, candidates must reside within commuting distance from the client site as urgent on-site meetings or full-time on-site work could be required at any time. We are seeking an experienced coach to help transition our existing work practices to a full embrace of agile methodology, from the top down. The agile coach will mentor and guide our employees in how to figure out the best solutions for their specific departmental challenges. This person will

analyze our organization's existing infrastructure and implement improvements to help streamline processes and create efficiencies. Ultimately, the agile coach will play a key role in long-term strategy across GDOT IT, helping our teams deliver better products and services in a faster, more  efficient manner.

 

Location Requirements:

Must be able to work onsite at our Downtown Atlanta office located at West Peachtree

Must be accessible and local to the Metro Atlanta area.

Hybrid Work Schedule - 3 days onsite.

 

Objectives of this role:

●            Work with project teams to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for adopting agile best practices

●            Guide teams in how to stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure that overall strategy is being met

●            Lead agile workshops for people of various technical disciplines, as well as for key stakeholders

●            Promote a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and assigning responsibility

●            Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensure the organization is adhering to industry best practices

●            Work directly with Scrum Masters, Team Leads, and the PMO to nurture a healthy and productive agile environment

 

Responsibilities:

●            Facilitate learning and development among employees through individual and team coaching

●            Coach senior managers in agile practices to ensure adoption of best practices from the top down

●            Communicate agile principles, scrum practices, and overall operating model across the organization

●            Champion the use of metrics and other objective measures by teams

●            Undertake daily follow-ups with individual team members to ensure projects are on track and goals are being met

●            Maintain objectivity regarding issues and how to troubleshoot them by applying agile principles

●            Hold stand-up meetings with cross-functional teams to review project status

●            Support leadership in understanding and participating in good agile practices

●            Facilitate the development of working agreements between teams and departments to improve cross-functional collaboration

Required skills and qualifications:

●            Five or more years of experience as agile coach

●            Experience in using scrum, kanban, and knowledge of how agile scales best

●            Track record of implementing agile techniques in different work cultures and environments

●            Experience in running agile projects of varying size and complexity, even in a hybrid waterfall environment

●            Strong skills for leading, educating, and coaching

●            Excellent written and verbal communication skills

●            Heightened personal skills to resolve conflicts and enable people of different skills to work well together

●            Ability to work directly with people in any position, regardless of technical skill or title

●            Able to recognize antpatterns within team dynamics and proactively work to avoid or remove them

●            Experience breaking down organizational silos and improving collaboration between development and operations teams
