Position: Sr. Linux Admin with storage Exp..

Location: Fairfield, CA or Reno, NV.

Duration: 6+ Months

Systems Administrator:

·         We are looking for a System Administrator with very strong technical skills in Linux and VMWare with sound expertise in Storage, Networking and Middleware.

·         Must have at least 8 years of working experience. This position is based in Fairfield, CA or Reno, NV.

Responsibilities:

• Installation, patching, upgrading, tuning, configuring and trouble-shooting Linux based operating systems - Red Hat and CentOS and virtualization in a large set of servers.
• Work closely with Development, Network, Security, Storage teams, vendors and outsourced partners.
• Optimize the usage of existing environments/resources.
• Handle configuration and support of a portfolio of custom Java applications, mostly running on the Resin application server.
• Day to day administration of operating systems and middleware.
• Perform regular and on-demand Backups and Recoveries of key Systems.
• Support and troubleshooting of our base company service infrastructure such as DNS, Postfix email servers, and LDAP authentication systems.
• Must be able to perform under tight timelines and schedules.
• Respond to end-user requests and escalations from our IT Helpdesk.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of Linux Operating Systems: Red Hat, CentOS
• Deep understanding of Virtualization, storage, NAS, SAN.
• Must be self-motivated hands-on with time management skills.

·         Familiarity with all basic Linux services/protocols such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, SMTP, etc.

·         Familiarity with NetApp fileservers and administration tools

·         High-level scripting skills in at least one of the following languages: Perl, Ruby, PHP, or one of the standard shells like sh, bash or ksh

·         Good written and verbal communication skills

• Solid understanding of Sever/Application deployment techniques, methodologies, and tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Nirvana, Couchbase, SOLR/MySQL is a Plus.
