Title: VMWare / Storage Analyst

Description
The Storage/VMware Administrator's role is to architecture, engineer, support and performance-tune VMWare 5.x and storage platforms across the organization to ensure high levels of system availability, data quality, availability, and security. The additional role is to manage the virtual infrastructure including server builds, inventory, performance and capacity monitoring, maintenance and patching. This individual also participates in the planning, designing and implementation of system policies and procedures to ensure virtual infrastructure and storage provisioning, efficiency, and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.5 plus years of IT experience, working in an Oil and Gas Company would be a plus.
Responsibilities
Support virtualization efforts around capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for enterprise virtualization and storage infrastructure in conjunction with data owners and department managers.
Perform capacity and performance analysis to ensure maximum operational throughput of the production workloads in the virtual infrastructure.
Work with application users and systems administrators to implement virtualized infrastructure and storage architectures that utilize industry best practices including Information Lifecycle Management, VMWare 5.x and NetApp storage systems.
Install and configure storage devices and corresponding software on the NetApp systems.
Maintain redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets.
Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data.
Deploy and maintain new ESX hosts including system maintenance and patching.
Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and tasks for both the NetApp storage systems and the VMware virtual infrastructure.
