Job title: MySQL DBA

Location: Foster City, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

·         Setup and maintain production MySQL instances

·         Monitor and tune the performance of multiple MySQL servers

·         Monitor database events, troubleshoot and resolve problems

·         Monitor database backup and validate recovery plans

·         Work with development teams for schema design and query tuning

·         Design database security roles; enroll users and audit database security

·         Follow change management policies to manage change in database environments

·         Coordinate with Apps support and application development teams for capacity planning and application design

Required Skills:

·         Exceptional Unix scripting/RHEL experience required

·         Installing, supporting and maintaining MySQL in a production environment

·         Experience with MySQL Enterprise, MyISAM, InnoDB and other storage engines

·         Must have experience in supporting MySQL/ORACLE in a large scale high availability environment

·         Must have experience in MySQL/Oracle supported on SAN storage technologies

·         Hands on experience with MySQL replication, backup and recovery & MySQL performance tuning

·         Experience with a scripting language such as bash or python

·         Deploying schema changes to production

·         Experience with Oracle Single Sign On 10g is preferred.

·         Solid infrastructure knowledge including high-availability solutions such as Oracle DataGuard, IBM Gaurdium,

·         Disk replication technologies (SRDF), VERITAS clustering

·         Experienced deploying Oracle technologies (RAC, Data Guard, ASM, OEM/Grid, RMAN, Oracle Streams)) in mission critical highly available production environments (preferably 11g versions of these where applicable)

·         Excellent SQL & Database Level performance tuning skills

·         Experience in Oracle Exadata and Expertise in database upgrade from Oracle 9i/10G to 11G.
