Carlstadt Data Center (CDC)

 

9/1/2014 – 12/31/2014

SRM buildout and testing of all Tier1 applications that require SRM recovery – test, configure, and deploy

Scaling out of SRM POC environment to perform all CDC to Berg testing and POCs – test, configure, and deploy

Multiple rack mount servers

Multiple C7000 chassis

Multiple bl460 blades

Multiple VMs

 

9/1/2014 – 12/31/2014

Tier 1 Application POCs, testing, and configurations including:F5 Global Traffic Manager (GTM) – test, configure, and deploy

SharePoint 2013 – test, configure, and deploy

SQL Server 2012– Berg readiness

Patching, to Certify the Berg build – test, configure, and deploy

SAPHOS antivirus, to certify the Berg build – test, configure, and deploy

Virtualization of Physical servers, in order to be able to port them to the Berg virtual environment – test, configure, and deploy

 

Berg Data Center (BDC)

Buildout Berg Datacenter

Buildout production application replication and SRM infrastructure between CDC and BDC

High-level tasks that the consultant will execute in support of the milestones include the following but are not limited to:

·         Designing and deploying the DR environment utilizing VMware on HP blades.

·         Configuration of HP blades, upgrade of firmware in chassis, blades, Onboard Administrator, etc.

·         Configuration of HP FlexFabric modules for Network and Fibre connections.

·         Configuration of VMware Virtual Switches and Virtual Distributed Switches.

·         Design and deploy rack-mount server solutions in support of Berg perquisites.

·         Design and deploy solutions for monitoring, performance, and capacity planning based on vCOps and other tools that the consultant may propose.

·         Designing and deploying the VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) test and production environments, including custom scripts that will be used to ensure proper replication, and restore order of VMs that are brought online in the event of a DR scenario.

·         Develop and implement test plans for SRM.

·         Develop and implement test plans for the other POCs, including running active/active applications via F5 load balancing.

·         Build all Berg production datacenter virtual and physical environments.

·         Assist in designing and building test environments as needed.

·         Produce documentation as necessary.

·         Transfer knowledge to Windows and Unix teams

·         Present solutions to senior-level audiences, both technical and non-technical.
