RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sybase/Oracle/Java developer primary responsibility will be to develop stored procedures, packages, triggers, tables, views, write middle tier or java back end programs and manage a variety of business processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Sybase/Java technical requirements:
o 3+ years of coding in SQL programming
o Experience in designing, coding, testing procedures, packages, triggers & PL/SQL
o Good experience with performance tuning of queries including parallel.
o 3+ years of working in a Unix/Linux environment including basic shell scripting.
o 6+ years of software development experience (preferably in the financial industry)
o Solid experience with Java core and Java Web technologies
o Experience with application servers Tomcat/Websphere
o Experience with messaging queues
o Ability to pick up and learn and adapt to newer features of JDK
o Experience with multi-threaded programming
o Knowledge of frameworks like Spring, Log4J a plus
o Writing middle tier frameworks interacting with JDBC optimally and knowledge of Rest API and alike
o Ability to write quick stand-alone programs from parsing to batch programs
o Sound knowledge of data structures and core java concepts a must
Other:
o Should be able to work independently
o Adaptability and willingness to learn and implement new/diverse technologies like Oracle, Tibco, BO etc.
o Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
o Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple diverse teams across multiple geographic locations and organizations
o Ability to work on large scale projects with multiple developers
o As projects go live, there may be on-call support needed during off hours. Majority of on-call support will be managed by the India or US team.
o Leadership and mentoring skills
o Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
o Preference given to individuals with experience in the financial services industry
