Job Description:

Job Roles / Responsibilities:     

 

1. Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with areas within the telecommunications function (e.g., network design, engineering, implementation, diagnostics or operations/user support).
2. Monitors the operation of telecom network systems.  Performs complex tasks relating to telecom network operations, installation, and/or maintenance for local, off-site and/or remote locations.
3. The scope of responsibility for this position includes, but is not limited to, the configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of telecommunications network components to provide a secure, high performance network.
4. Serves as technical specialist/lead on a functional basis, for the resolution of complex network problems.
5. Coordinates contract activities, including contract development, negotiation, and transition.
6. Monitors vendor contracts to ensure terms and conditions are met.
7. Experience includes:  moves, adds and changes, fault isolation and resolution, and end-user support.  Requires broad knowledge of telecom systems, dial plans, switching architecture, telephony, and wiring.
8. Analyzes telecommunication infrastructure requirements and make appropriate cost effective design recommendations.  Lead or participate as a member of a project team.
9. Support client globally in meeting their business objectives through the creative use of telecommunications and wireless internetworking solutions.
10. Assure the appropriate analysis, selection and use of cost effective technology assets which best meet client's telecommunications needs.
11. Put together detail project plans and execute throughout a project life cycle.
12. Effectively lead problem solving process to a satisfactory resolution.  Champion client's interest in solving problems with 3^rd party vendor's hardware and software.
13. Work closely with vendors such as AVAYA, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, CallCopy, ISI, NACR, and CC&N to make sure client's internal timelines and deliverables are appropriately met.
14. Evaluate new technology products.
15. Stay abreast of advances in communication technologies along with changes in the transportation and logistics industries, and general business developments.
16. Develop positive working relationships within the business.

 

Experience and Skill Requirements:

1. Minimum 8 years of experience designing voice connectivity solutions using technologies such as VoIP, TDM, SIP, QoS, Call Routing, Conference bridges, Voicemail systems, call recording, and other AVAYA products such as Call Center, CMS, IVR, Switch administration, troubleshooting, etc.
2. 3 years program and/or project management experience.
3. Proven ability to influence outcomes with little explicit authority.
4. Ability to lead/persuade at all levels of the organization including senior leadership.
5. Must have team leadership experience.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
7. Strong critical thinking skills.
8. Process-based management experience and knowledge a plus.
9. Strong problem solving skills which includes root cause analysis, defining options for resolutions and the ability to clearly articulate the options to internal technical and business individuals and 3^rd party vendors.
