GIS Application Developer
Laurel, MD

Description:

WSSC is in the process of upgrading existing GIS applications and developing innovative solutions using modern technologies that allows for better access, ease of usability and flexibility in order to meet Commission's strategic goals. We now seek technical expertise to join our GIS team for upgrading and developing innovative Web GIS Applications.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Environments setup and configuration, GIS Application development, configuration, integration with various services and other tasks including, but not limited to:
• Developing GIS Web applications using ArcGIS Server JavaScript APIs
• Designing and developing front end for GIS web applications using HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• Creating, publishing, and administering ArcGIS Sever services
• Interacting with user to capture and document requirements
• Providing maintenance support for enterprise GIS applications
• Working with the project team on other tasks as required to meet requirements and business needs, meeting schedule and deliverables and troubleshooting any issues that may arise
• Providing documentation, training, and support in the hand-off of the GIS application development and server/services administration.

 

Required Skills:

3+ years of experience in Web GIS application development and has completed at least two medium-to-large scale Web GIS Application development and deployments using ArcGIS Server JavaScript APIs and HTML/CSS/JavaScript

Strong web application design and development skills

Strong programming skills including ASP.NET, C#, HTML5, JavaScript, JSON, REST and web services

Experience designing, programming, testing/debugging web applications

Experience with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server 10.1/10.2.

Experience with ArcGIS Server JavaScript APIs, ArcSDE and Oracle database.

Proficient in presentation layer technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery, AJAX

Strong understanding of GIS ESRI software and data management structures and needs.

Must be available to work on-site at least 4 days/week.

A Bachelor's Degree in information systems, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
