Experienced Oracle/SQL
Database Administrator to assist in the implementation of Oracle 11.5.10 upgrade to Release 12.2.3. The position entails the following requirements:
• Proven experience as an Oracle Applications DBA within a project based environment
• Extensive experience of the Oracle eBusiness Suite
• Hands-on technology expertise across Oracle core technologies (e.g. RAC, ASM, DataGuard)
• Knowledge/experience of Oracle WebLogic Server and/or Oracle Application Server
• Proficient O/S skills (Linux, UNIX and/or WINxx)
• Knowledge of Oracle SOA or OBIEE would be an advantage
Position Summary:
The Database Administrator will play a central role in the upgrade from Oracle 11.5.10 to Release 12.2.x (There is a strong possibility that the release may change to 12.2. )
The Senior Oracle Applications Database Administrator position is responsible for the administration, strategic planning, technical direction, and architecture of Oracle database products in all Oracle database environments including Oracle Financials, Hyperion, BI. It also includes security compliance, business continuity and backup of database instances and their file systems. This position is responsible for installing, upgrading, supporting and monitoring data base systems and processes on an array of systems running Oracle Financials, third party applications etc.. In addition, this position is responsible for working with System Architects, Designers and Developers to support the database design, administration, and development activities during the upgrade to R12 and implementation of new modules such as Oracle HCM (OAB, SSHR)
Position Responsibilities:
• Support Oracle E-Business Suite environments
• Support Oracle related databases and applications
• Install, patch, administer, monitor and clone Oracle E-Business Suite environment
• Understand and support Oracle Financials (EBS) set up and configurations
• Participate in Unit, System and Integration testing related to Oracle Modules during upgrade
• Managing Service Requests with the Oracle Systems Integrator and/or Oracle Provide Technical Support for Oracle E-Business Suite Application/Database
• Conduct maintenance, enhancements, and performance tuning activities.
• Responsible for logical data modeling, physical database design, and data dictionary maintenance
• Scheduling and monitoring of backups, generation of reports, and coordination and promotion of database changes
• Creates scripts to perform data fixes
• Monitors database and file system backup status.
• All other duties as needed or required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent experience
• 8 to 10 years of Data Base Administration experience including Microsoft SQL Server and a minimum of 3-5 years or oracle database experience.
• Experience upgrading Oracle E-Business Apps from 11.5.10.2 to R12.
• Ability to administer and support Oracle 10g, 11g and SQL databases.
• Demonstrated strong technical and analytical ability
• Effective in team setting or as individual contributor
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Oracle databases using grid control.
• Ability to Upgrade and maintain large databases.
• Ability to develop design, test, and deployment documentation.
• Ability to foster a sense of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration
• Ability to work on nights and weekends to support systems
• Experience with Backup and Recovery methodologies and tools (RMAN preferred).
• Hands-on technology expertise across Oracle core technologies (eg RAC, ASM, DataGuard
• Experience in UNIX environments (HP, SUN, Linux)
• Experience with Oracle database performance and tuning (AWR reports, explain plans, 10G/11G Advisors)
• Strong knowledge about Oracle Financials application and database.
• Experience creating a high availability of the databases.
• Experience performing Oracle installations, upgrades, and installing patches.
• Monitoring, tuning and capacity planning experience.
• Support the IT implementation teams to develop database models (logical and physical) and implementation.
• Knowledge of ad-hoc queries, SQL, Procedures, PL/SQL.
• Implement database change requests, patches, monitoring tools, and resolve exceptions, alerts and issues.
• Oracle Forms and Reports.
• Experience with Exalogic and Exadata hardware environment desirable
• OCP certification in Oracle 10g or 11g databases is desirable
