Storm Unix Resource (Storage Migrations)

 

The senior Unix Administrator (Solaris/Linux) responsible for supporting complex storage migrations, OS patching & troubleshooting.   SA will be working with project team, facilities team, storage management and application team to plan and execute complex storage migrations. Strong communication skills required as SA is expected to liaise with project team as well as business units, conversing and highlighting issues and assist with storage migration project planning, and executing.

 

Qualifications

 

Dayly Rate:        

Hours:                  Flexible schedule (M-F), nights, and weekend work whenever necessary.

 

·         Strong core Linux/Solaris Administration skills.

·         Strong experience supporting EMC data migrations

·         Host based data migration experience including host level mirroring, EMC PPME

·         Extensive experience troubleshooting technical problem

·         Strong knowledge of device management, Veritas Volume, ASM disk config and similar enterprise volume Manager

·         Knowledge of storage area network concepts and fibre channel fundamentals

·         Knowledge of Powerpath device configuration

·         Shell or Perl script experience

 

Technical Skills:

·         Solaris 10 (and earlier releases)

·         Solaris 10 Zones

·         Linux

·         Veritas Volume Manager (including advance troubleshooting), ASM

·         Veritas Cluster Server, Veritas file system

·         EMC Powerpath

·         Shell scripting

 

Position 1 - Backup Specialist

DB is looking to hire a Storage Back up Specialist. Must have experience in architecting, engineering and supporting enterprise classstorage backup solutions in a distributed environment.

 

Required Skills –

·         Overall 10+ years of Industry experience

·         Minimum 6-8 years of extensive experience with IBM Tivoli Backup solutions with EMC and / or other SAN storage products and CISCO and /OR Brocade switches

·         Minimum of 6-8 years' experience for large enterprises with TSM (Tivoli Storage Manager, a backup software product), VTL (Virtual Tape Library), TDPO (Tivoli Data Protection for Oracle) and  Backup management and implementations

·         Supporting storage design and recovery solutions for multiple large database installations

·         Excellent capabilities and experience with trouble shooting complex production issues as per SLAs

·         UNIX (AIX pref

erred)  6-7 years of experience

·         Financial Services industry experience

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
