General description: Sr. ETL/DataStage Architect/Developer with experience working on Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence projects in an enterprise environment
Key Responsibilities: Assists with Data Integration and Data Quality initiatives by supporting all phases of SDLC for BI tools, Datastage, and related tools, and analyzes, architects, designs, develops, and tests the delivery of BI projects.
Skills and attributes: Excellent communication skills, ability to work with technical teams and the business and a deep experience with ETL development and architecture related to IBM Products (DataStage, QualityStage, Information Analyzer etc..)
Educational requirements: Bachelor's degree
Here is what the client wants (Top 3):
DataStage Development and Architecture Versions 8.7 or higher, preferably 11, 9
Quality Stage Version 9i is preferred
InfoSphere CDD (Change Data Delivery) and CDC Stages, Information Analyzer and Metadata Workbench
Additional Requirements:
MUST HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Implementing, optimizing, and debugging SQL statments
Stored Procedures
Good communication skills – ability to make suggestions based on business requirements
Experience with Relational Databases, data modeling, and database design and development
Windows scripting
Exposure to BI reporting tools – Cognos, and TM1 would be great, but not required
ERP Experience – JDE, SAP preferred
Experience in manufacturing, building products, or chemical companies is a plus
Job Description:
Responsible for supporting all phases of the software development life-cycle process for DataStage, business intelligence tools, RDBMS, and other supporting processes and applications. Analyze, architect, develop, test and execute delivery of Business Intelligence projects. Perform analysis and design activities for BI projects to be developed. Conduct software package evaluations and work with vendors to implement selected solutions. Coordinate quality assurance efforts by creating and executing test plans. Assist in creating user documentation for applications. Coordinate system sign-off, move to production, and support of applications
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Multi-tasking on multiple projects potentially at different stages of project development
Meet with project sponsors to assist with documentation of requirements
Perform analysis and design activities for BI projects
Analyze systems needs and create system models
Analyze data needs, create and modify data models
Conduct software package evaluations and work with vendors to implement
Assist with quality assurance efforts by creating and executing test plans
Assist in creating user documentation for applications
Coordinate system sign-off, move to production, and support of applications
Qualifications:
7 or more years of experience as a Sr. ETL developer or an ETL architect with designing, developing, unit-testing, and documenting ETL projects in IBM Data Stage, and IBM InfoSphere suits.
In depth experience with data mapping, data extract, transformations, reusability, availability of ETL load and ETL reconciliation processes.
In depth experience with data warehousing and business intelligence projects, having delivered multiple solutions in these areas
In depth experience with IBM InfoSphere Quality Stage and Data Quality concepts.
Experience implementing IBM InfoSphere CDD (Change Data Delivery) and CDC stages.
Experience with IBM InfoSphere Information Analyzer
Experience with IBM InfoSphere metadata workbench.
Experience with windows scripting to process through DataStage objects.
Experience in implementing optimizing and debugging derived SQL statements,
Experience in implementing, optimizing, and debugging stored procedures,
Capable of working on multiple tasks in parallel.
Experience with business processes and the automated workflow
Thorough understanding of IT (SDLC) delivery methodologies
Understanding of relational databases and data modeling/database design
Experience with integration with enterprise applications
Mentor peers with ETL skills and other necessary scripting, reviewing, and documenting.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Good group presentation skills
Bachelor's degree in related discipline
