Job Title: Middleware Engineer

Location: Columbus, OH

Duration: 6-12 months of Contract

Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• The candidate should have experience of working in a multi-team operate model.
• The person should also have experience on middleware products such as IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat & CA Siteminder with a minimum of 5+ years experience supporting high-availability enterprise sized web applications.
• The candidate will be part of a team which will assist in 24/7 support of the platform.
• The candidate will perform duties per client standards regarding engagement, change management and escalations.
• The candidate will interact with vendors and perform root cause analysis and incident reports when necessary.
• The candidate will have broad platform responsibilities as needed and expected from an operations team member.

Position responsibilities include:

• Provide assistance to junior engineers with technology related questions
• Work with the architecture team to define & direct technological changes
• Preventative and proactive system monitoring functions and real-time responses
• Monitor and evaluate efficiency of system usage and make recommendations to management to improve performance
• Perform root cause & system log analysis
• Maintain operational support and related system documentation
• Trouble ticket research and troubleshooting
• Ability to work on multiple initiatives outside the scope of the day to day activities
• Work closely with the project manager and understand the delivery bottlenecks and help overcome them
• Effectively report issues, risks, timely status to the program management team

Qualifications:

• Proficient middleware technologies
• System performance tuning and monitoring
• Familiarity with HP ProLiant server samiliarity - DL 380 (G7 and G8)
• Trouble ticket research and troubleshooting
• Symantec ESM 6.5
• Should have proven track record in managing a small team in past.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration and negotiation skills
