Description

Morgan Stanley's Corporate Treasury division is responsible for providing corporate-finance advisory services to senior management and the business units; 

maintaining the firm's liquidity; accessing multicurrency short- and long-term financing; optimizing the firm's capital base; coordinating our relationships with

rating agencies, lenders, and creditors; managing the firm's foreign exchange and interest rate exposure; and acquiring adequate insurance for the firm's activities.


One of Treasury technology's strategic initiatives is to enhance our liquidity risk management platform. To that end, we are seeking a strong developer, 

who can work closely with technology and business colleagues, to enhance the service layer of our Liquidity Risk application. The candidate must demonstrate strong 

skills in server-side Java. The candidate must also have strong communication and interpersonal skills to work very closely with team members globally throughout the

entire software development lifecycle

Skills Required 

 Extensive database/data warehouse modeling and design experience (ERWin, PowerDesigner preferred)

 In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with data integration ETL development

 In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with reporting and analytic tools such as Business Objects, SAS, etc.

 In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of database systems, specifically Teradata, Sybase, Oracle and/or DB2

 Strong SQL and database performance tuning skills

 Batch processing and scripting in UNIX/Linux Environment (shell scripting, Perl, Autosys) 

 Strong Communication skills

Skills Desired 

 Experience in the Financial Industry.

 Experience with data service architecture.

 Experience in NoSQL/Big Data.

 Experience with Java or any other programming language

 

Description

This position is for a hands-on Senior Data Architect with 5-10 years working in the financial IT community. Candidate must possess a strong background in relational 

database (DB2, Sybase, Oracle, and/or Teradata) design and implementation including data warehouses, operational data stores, and data marts. Candidate should have 

extensive experience modeling instruments, transactions, positions, and other financial data. Candidate should have in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in SQL, procedural SQL, performance tuning, ETL (Perl, Informatica), reporting (Business Objects), and data analysis.

The candidate must have strong communication skills and be able work with both users and IT in a highly collaborative team environment. Candidate should be disciplined

, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and delivery-focused.


Morgan Stanley has recently embarked on an aggressive strategy to increase capabilities and assets in the banking space (deposits, lending, etc.).

To support this rapid business expansion, the growth of technology capabilities and services is critical.

The position is in a data architecture group focused on delivering both tactical and strategic database solutions to support various products and product flows in 

retail banking including sales, risk, mortgages, and securities based lending. The individual will participate in data modeling, development, performance tuning, 

and data quality efforts, and will consult on strategic and tactical database initiatives. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the

banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, vendor capabilities, proprietary system builds,

and the ability to adapt to changing database platforms.

Skills required:

The key skills required are:

• 7+ years planning, tracking and reporting medium to high complexity technology projects

• 5+ years in financial services settings

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

• Critical thinking and translation of business needs into technology solutions.

• Good problem solving skills.

• Ability to analyze vague project requests and clarify into specific tasks, next steps and deliverables

• Excellent written/oral communication skills and listening skills

• Full systems development life cycle experience

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Visio

• Solid knowledge of project/portfolio management techniques and Microsoft Project

• Should have experience 3+ years of working with geographically dispersed teams that fall across different time zones


Skills Desired:

Prior work on CRM applications a plus. Previous experience at Morgan Stanley and familiarity with our SDCL / PLC processes a plus as well.

Role Description: Project Manager, CRM

This position is for a Project Manager for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management– Field and Client Technology (FACT) at Morgan Stanley's New York offices.

The Candidate would play a lead role in the execution of the Program with the following responsibilities for various projects within the CRM book of work:

 

•         Define the scope of the project and create scope lists accordingly

•         Create a detailed work plan / project plan, for each project effort, which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project

•         Determine the resources required to complete the project and work with development in doing so

•         Develop a schedule for project completion and provide a timeline appropriately

•         Identify and coordinate all external groups that need to be involved in the project

•         Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project

•         Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project

•         Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality

•         Provide guidance and direction to the program and other teams involved

•         Support issues resolution and delivery across department teams

•         Create and present executive level documentation for use in program status and communications

•         Categorize and align all projects to releases and own the creation of all documents required as well as the facilitation of weekend deployment activities.

 

The candidate should be flexible, highly adaptable and excellent team player. The role requires credibility and confidence interacting with senior management, 

business unit personnel, branch offices and the technology team across the full lifecycle of a project. 

The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team along with NY and India team members, sometimes across multiple time zones. 

The ideal candidate will be a self motivated team player committed to delivering on time and should be able to work under minimal supervision.
