Position: Windows Infrastructure Architect

Location: NYC

Duration: 6+ Months

NOTE:  Phone and In-Person interview required

 

Job Description: Qualifications

• Windows (2008/2008 R2, Server 2012)
• Writing scripts in batch and Powershell.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining server hardware in a predominately Windows environment
• Monitoring servers and devices within an infrastructure.
• SAN infrastructure, preferably EMC, NetApp or 3Par and associated fiber switches. (Brocade would be a plus)
• load balancing
• DNS
• MS SQL clustering
• Troubleshooting and resolving escalated server, network, application and storage-related issues
• Analyze, dissect and re-engineer existing solutions with a focus on elevating efficiency and increasing performance
• Complete projects on tight deadlines while handling numerous unplanned interruptions.
• Clearly and precisely communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Lead technology and mentor others at a high level
• Do whatever it takes to support a mission critical 24x7 platform
• Lead and coordinate large scale projects across multiple business units and vendors highly preferred
• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar discipline
• Experience installing, configuring and maintaining server hardware in a predominately Windows environment
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving escalated server, network, application and storage-related issues
• Experience monitoring servers and devices within an infrastructure. Nagios experience is a plus
• The ability to analyze, dissect and re-engineer existing solutions with a focus on elevating efficiency and increasing performance
• Excellent time management skills are a must. The candidate must be able to complete projects on tight deadlines while handling numerous unplanned interruptions.
• Excellent English communication skills. The candidate must be able to clearly and precisely communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences • Proven ability to lead technology and mentor others at a high level • Willingness to do whatever it takes to support a mission critical 24x7 platform • Ability to lead and coordinate large scale projects across multiple business units and vendors highly preferred
