Oracle DBA - State of NY - 2 Positions

Position: Oracle DBA

Duration: 24 Months with excellent chance of extension
Location: Albany, NY

DEGREE IN IT RELATED FIELD (Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Technology etc.) MANDATORY
GOVERNMENT EXPERIENCE MANDATORY

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
5-7 YEARS of Experience
- Responsible for data analysis and database management
- Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning
- Candidate is able to work without assistance and can provide leadership for others; may have advanced education

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree – major or minor in Computer Science
- 5 YEARS demonstrated experience as lead technical designer and administrator (DBA) of Oracle relational databases.
- Experience must include all aspects of database instance creation, maintenance and configuration, schema design and development, tablespace/file management, tuning of database and sql, backup and recovery techniques, replication techniques, and software installation.
- Experience with Oracle releases 10 , 11 , and 12.
- 5 YEARS demonstrated experience working in Unix server environments, especially HP-UX and AIX.
- 5 YEARS demonstrated experience supporting OLTP applications utilizing an Oracle database.
- 5 YEARS demonstrated data processing experience working in public/government sector IT applications dealing with the delivery of government assistance or entitlements.
- 2 YEARS demonstrated experience involved with the development and support of data interface processes between business entities of like (e.g., Oracle/Unix) or disimiliar infrastructures, especially Microsoft Windows and SQL Server rdbms , Microsoft Biz Talk , Oracle advanced queuing.



Position: Oracle DBA/Developer w Scripting
End Client: State of NY
Duration: 24 Months with excellent chance of extension
Location: Albany, NY

LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE MANDATORY

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
7+ YEARS of Experience
- Responsible for data analysis and database management
- Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning
- Candidate is able to provide leadership of large teams and/or extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.


DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- 7 YEARS experience as an Enterprise-wide Relational Database Management Administrator (DBA) in the installation, configuration and administration of a highly available Oracle RDBMS (10G or higher) in a HP-UX environment using High Availability HP Storage, RMAN and HP Service Guard.
- 7 YEARS experience in programming with SQL and Oracle PL/SQL and in data exchange between heterogeneous systems using Oracle Utilities
- 7 YEARS experience in advanced system programming including UNIX scripting (Korn shell) and LINUX scripting
- 7 YEARS experience in development lifecycle and deployment methodologies and version control and change management.
- 7 YEARS experience in performing business analysis, systems analysis and design, programming and implementation in cross-functional or cross-organizational technology projects (e.g., multi-agency)
- 7 YEARS experience in conducting training and mentoring and facilitating effective knowledge transfer
- 7 YEARS professional experience with Law Enforcement organizations, applications and infrastructure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
