Job Summary

The business analyst (BA) supports the continued development, rollout, and maintenance of Healthcare products and services. The BA gathers and documents product feature requirements to provide clear direction for the strategic planning of business and software development. He or she provides recommendations to improve product delivery, productivity, and education of the development team. The BA assists in the creation of acceptance test approaches. The BA works with end-users, developers, QA, and project stakeholders to analyze the organization's strategic business needs. He or she will also provide ongoing support for production processes.

 

Essential Functions

·       Work with business stakeholders to understand, refine, and document key requirements.

·       Identify and document business processes and use cases.

·       Perform gap, impact, and risk analysis.

·       Work with end users to understand system needs and issues; identify opportunities for improvement.

·       Support ongoing product maintenance, including production support and cross-team communication.

·       Assist in defining, coordinating, and executing test conditions and acceptance tests.

·       Assist project managers in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.

·       Develop internal and external meeting objectives and agendas and facilitate meetings.

·       Attend all project planning priority meetings and provide timely communications to product owner and other project stakeholders.

·       Work closely with other IT team members, product owner, & stakeholders on project priorities.

·       Propose solutions to problems and consider timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing client needs.

·       Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices.

·       Research new products and participate in the new product development process.

 

Education and Experience

·       Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience

·       5+ years of business analysis experience.

·       Understands web-based and client/server technologies

·       Understands how various issues affect each other and the outcome of projects

·       Accurately prepares written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional, and engaging

·       Preferred experience working in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies

·       Fluent with Microsoft Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; familiar with MS Project and SQL

 

Skills and Abilities:

·       Demonstrates refined written and verbal communication skills, fosters open communications, listens effectively, and builds strong partnership networks that result in consistent forward momentum

·       Skilled at solving challenges in a directed, methodical manner and analyzes the current issue to envision creative solutions

·       Takes initiative to complete critical tasks, especially in team settings with dependencies on other people

·       Works effectively in the face of stress, ambiguity, difficult situations, and shifting priorities

·       Steps outside of "comfort zone" to tackle new issues/challenges in an aggressive manner; deals well with ambiguity in a fast-paced, cutting-edge, and entrepreneurial environment

·       Challenges the status quo to generate new ideas and implements unique solutions to fix challenging problems

·       Collaborates and openly seeks and shares information across teams and departments

·       Uses solid analytical and problem solving skills, and is able to analyze current situations with new requirements to synthesize into creative solutions
