Qualifications:
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems
• Minimum of 5 years IT development experience with knowledge of mainframe software including COBOL and JCL
• Focused and detailed oriented with strong ability to interpret and follow technical plans
• Excellent problem-solving and understanding the need to find the root cause behind an issue
• An understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including Business requirements, technical design and architecture, robust unit and regression testing
• Excellent communication and customer care skills
• The ability to work with people at all levels, including non-technical staff
• Good project management skills
• The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet established deadlines
• Teamwork skills are a must
• Knowledge or background of CyberLife, Life70, LifeComm, or equivalent mainframe insurance software
• Insurance industry background (desired)
