Network Engineer
Location: Santa Clare, CA, US
*Need only locals with in-person interview available.
Job Description:
Minimum 5+ years of experience
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the design, implementation and ongoing management of the corporate network
Interface with security teams to design and continuously deliver security-related enhancements
Analyze data and define network capacity models and performance metrics
Develop automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events and minimize operational complexity
Optimize the network in every way possible
Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of routing, switching and network security
Strong knowledge of TCP, IPv4 and IPv6, and common protocol operations
Knowledge of stateful packet inspection, firewalls and ACLs
Extensive experience with OSPF and BGP
Extensive experience with Layer 2 protocols and associated enhancements (LACP, L2 ECMP, 802.1d/w/s, 802.1x, etc.) required
Deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas is required: VPN (DVMRP, GRE, IPSec/SSL VPNs), Wireless (802.1a/b/g/n), Datacenter Virtualization (ESX/AWS/Openstack etc.), Global and Local Server Load-Balancing (GLB/SLB), Multicast (PIM-SM, MSDP, IGMP)
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
Desirable:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
Platform knowledge for Juniper, F5 and Palo Alto Networks products
Knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting with Shell, Perl or Python
Relevant vendor certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, JNCIE)
