Job: Lead Java Architect

​Location: Minnetonka, MN

Job Duration:6+ Months

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide leadership and accountability for performance and direction through multiple layers of management and senior level professional staff
• Set the direction and drive the growth of a large group of Information Technology professionals supporting development projects and programs in a large matrixed organization
• Provide regular project and organizational communications in the form of status reports and informational meetings to keep staff, colleagues, senior management, external and internal clients apprised of major activities, developments, accomplishments and issues
• Build and sustain a high-performing organization including: recruitment, retention, performance management, recognition and related human capital activities
• Develop plans to meet short and long-term objectives,  monitoring and ensuring quality results
• Resolve conflicts and barriers as they arise and take proactive steps to ensure organizational alignment, cohesion and support
• Escalate issues related to project outcomes to senior management as needed along with insight on recommended resolutions
• Direct others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functions or disciplines

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years managing and leading technical teams (preferably development resources) in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 200)
• Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence staff and management of internal and external IT partners
• Solid background in applications development methodologies, SDLC and other IT industry standards
• Demonstrated ability to obtain a thorough understanding of strategic business goals, recommend technology solutions and build credibility with customers and other IT partners
• Solid technical skills and background needed to support the oversight of development and management of complex multi-platform environments.
• Experience with Java Enterprise Edition (EE) and web technologies is a plus.
• Experience working on large, enterprise applications, preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of design patterns and concepts
• 1 year Oracle experience preferred
• Interative development experience preferred
• Agile development concepts preferred
• Clinical Heathcare applications experience is a huge plus
• Strong project/program management, customer service and conflict management skills that can be applied in providing support and direction to team members, key business and IT staff leading projects
• Extremely organized with a strong sense of priority, urgency, and commitment to deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present, negotiate, influence, and build consensus
• Executive level interface and presentation experience
• Change agent, results oriented and operations focused
• Healthcare development a strong plus
