My Client has an immediate opening for Senior Network Engineer. The location is Vernon Hills, IL. The hourly rate is DOE. This is a 6 Months contract Opening.
Local Candidates Preferred. Client will accept H1 candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Works independently as the sole Network support resource is this location
- Cisco LAN Switching configuration and support
- Operational Support of Cisco switch infrastructure consisting of 3850 series stackable switches and 4500x series
- Interacts with other IT teams (Server, Application, Security, Video, etc.)
- Complex Network Troubleshooting
- Contributes to network design discussions with central network team
Skills Set Requirements:
- Cisco LAN Switching expertise. Must have experience with Cisco stackable switches and Cisco 4500x series
- Expert understanding of VLANs and associated configuration
- Strong understanding of Layer 2, Layer 3, IP Addressing, and routing protocols
- Must have hands on experience with Cisco switches – complex configuration and troubleshooting
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot complex issues, especially to recognize when the problem is not the network (issue may be caused by improper server/application configuration, etc.)
- Must have experience with Data Center cabling standards (vertical, horizontal, patching)
- Must have excellent verbal communication abilities
- Must be a self-starter
- ASA Firewall experience desired; F5 load balancer experience desired (but not required)
- CCNP required
