POSITION: C#.NET / Desktop Application Engineer

DURATION: 12+ month contract

LOCATION: 1790 Hughes Landing Blvd., The Woodlands, TX, 77380

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Software Engineer serves on one of the development teams for the Pegasys Replacement Project in Houston, programming equipment design modules in C# .NET. The software engineer works on a team of four individuals helping to design, develop, test, and deploy high quality software as part of the Pegasys application.

 

This group is working on a very large C#.Net application project; it's an engineering type application that Exxon uses to provide them a competitive advantage and they are looking for developers to help them develop the said application. They are working in an Agile environment, thus, there's a lot of collaboration among all the members of the group. They talk all day long and solve the problems together. And because of the highly collaborative environment, everyone has to participate. They are all very excited about writing codes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Participate as a contributing team member

• Contribute on design of software modules

• Develop software following team and industry best practices and standards, coding styles, etc.

• Work with Chemical Engineers from ExxonMobil Research and Engineering daily to meet requirements and ensure the product meets expectations

• Share knowledge and experience with other team members through regular, frequent, formal and informal communication

• Participate in code reviews, contributing constructive comments, suggestions, thoughts to help improve code development across the team

• Give and receive peer feedback and/or assistance as needed

 

Qualifications:

 

Their ideal candidate is someone who has worked on this type of application:

• Microsoft Windows application running on a desktopplease DO NOT SUBMIT profiles w/ web based projects!

• Written in C# targeting a recent .NET framework

• WPF for a user interface, extra points for using the MVVM design pattern

• Extra points if the application performs calculations, especially difficult calculations involving complex algorithms

• Must have worked on an application that is related to the oil/gas industry

 

Background:

 

• Has worked on large scale projects with at least 3 other developers on a team (more is better)

• Has developed software using one of the many agile methodologies and can describe in detail an agile software development lifecycle

• Is highly skilled with Visual Studio and has experience with multiple .NET frameworks going back several years

• Is confident and familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation server for both source code and work item management

• Is capable of describing in detail several difficult C# or .NET concepts clearly

• Is team oriented and wants to have fun writing complex software that helps engineers solve real world problems

POSITION: .NET Application Tester (Pegasys Project)

DURATION: 12+ month contract

LOCATION: 1790 Hughes Landing Blvd., The Woodlands, TX, 77380

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

This request is for an Application Tester for the Pegasys Replacement Project. The project is replacing an End of Life application that does Equipment Design for our plants and refineries around the globe. The tester will be an integrated part of one of our development teams, and will work with the team to deliver an extremely high quality application.

 

Primary responsibilities will be deep functional testing, automated testing in our "home grown" framework, working with customers to understand issues, and working with development teams to resolve any issues.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS: (in Priority order)

 

1.     Communication skills (most important attribute)

2.     Functional testing experience

3.     Automated testing experience with different frameworks

4.     Experience working in an Agile environment

5.     Experience testing .NET applications

6.     Familiar with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and associated processes

 

Nice To Have Experience and Skills:

      .NET development skills

      Graphic design of simple icons and drawings (Visio, Photoshop)
