SQL Database Administrator

Location: Austin, TX -- Locals Preferred

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

·         Experience performing database performance monitoring, recommending and implementing efficiency improvements for the SQL Server database servers.

·         Experience maintaining and supporting SQL Server database servers, applications and legacy systems, including user account requests, performance and log monitoring, maintenance/backup jobs, custom Visual Basic, Java, Access and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) front end applications.

·         Experience supporting software developers with database operations, including the development of complex SQL, T-SQL and the creation of stored procedures.

·         Experience designing and supporting data transformation services (DTS) and SQL server integration services (SSIS) extract, transform, load (ETL) packages.

·         Experience with installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels, and ensures that migrations are appropriately tested and validated.

·         Experience working with other departments to streamline data processes and implements policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the agency databases.

·         Skill in identifying and resolving problems using strong analytical techniques, innovative approaches, and taking initiative in preventing and solving problems.

·         Skill in effective oral and written communication.

·         Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer databases, programming, and systems design; computer operations, systems, and procedures

·         Knowledge of computer database application systems, data processing flowcharting techniques, database structures and theories, current database technologies; and data analysis and evaluation techniques.

·         Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making

·         Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines

·         Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback

·         Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment

·         Ability to provide excellent customer service

 

Preferences:

 

·         Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or closely related discipline

·         Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 or above.

·         Experience with ETL packages including DTS, SSIS and BCP.

·         Experience in providing technical support for system architecture planning and design

·         Knowledge of Texas Child Support Program

·         Knowledge of Texas Child Support Enforcement System
