Our client in Columbia, MD has an immediate need for a Contractor Software - Data Analyst
Local candidates highly preferred.
Onsite interviews are required.
We are looking for someone with strong SQL skills , analytical skills and someone who can communicate clearly. This person will be looking into TDA databases, analyzing the data and reporting on what data doesn't mean certain standards. The manager is a one man band, so this person will also be assisting him with TADDM exercises as well. The manager is very hands off, and doesn't have time to micro manage a worker - so candidates need to be brights and able to work independently. This position will run through 9/30/2017. This is a straight contract position. Interviews will be on the phone first, and then in person - we do prefer local candidates (Position is in Maryland).
Job Description, Required Skills, Education, Experience:
The CMDB Data Analyst will work with T2 Teams and Business Units to identify, control, maintain and verify Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data. They will develop a metrics system to ensure data quality is high, and does not drift over time. They will also review process exception reports, and work to eliminate the processing exceptions.
Candidate should have strong skills in Data Analytics, SQL Server SQL, and Data Reporting. Candidate should have some understanding of TADDM and Data Modeling.
• Main Accountability 1: Develop a system/process to validate CMDB data quality, including analyzing data, producing metrics, and reporting on any exceptions in the data. Goal is to validate data is high quality, and does not drift over time.
Examples:
• Establish a system whereby we know via metrics how new inventory is entering with high quality, and what if anything drifts over time.
• Define Managed Inventory parameters – and measure/report whenever they change
• Review, analyze, and resolve processing exceptions
• Create a Data Dictionary/Model for the CMDB
• Perform analysis and judgment outside established process / procedure
• Balance multiple priorities and respond to day-to-day problems while maintaining progress on regularly scheduled project work.
• Main Accountability 2: TADDM 7.3.0.3 Support
Examples:
• Review TADDM error report and action issues to resolve sensor errors.
• Create Custom Server Templates to identify software processes running in the environment
• Provide support with TADDM operations and management
• Main Accountability 3: Provide required analysis and knowledge transfer to the team members
Examples:
• Written and oral communication skills to effectively elicit information from users; design, and document IT related procedures.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with technical staff, user departments and end users.
• Manage time and resources and effectively balance multiple priorities.
• Participate as a member of a cross-divisional project team.
3 Years of Experience required
• Strong skills at SQL queries, report writing and presenting findings
• Proven working experience as a data analyst
• Technical expertise to read and understand data models, queries can be written to identify data abnormalities.
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing data (Excel, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
• Proactive, can-do attitude with excellent analytic skills and provide solutions.
• Be part of our business, understand our business, solve business problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferred Skills, Education, Experience:
• ITIL certification is a plus
