Title: Flash Developer

Location: Waltham, MA

Duration: 3-6 months contract

Interview Pattern: Phone screen then face to face interview and must have a portfolio.

Job Description

The ideal candidate is an expert Flash / Actionscript programmer who can design and build clean, clear, and effective user interfaces. The candidate must be able to communicate well and work effectively with a diversity of teams, including clients, clients' design agencies, The clients sales associates and client service teams, IT support staff and engineers, and quality-assurance personnel. Candidate would be the fifth member of our team of Design Technologists and would report to the Vice President of Client Services.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Building Flash-based online market research exercises.
• Writing custom ActionScript code to communicate with a database and generate on-the-fly concept renderings
• Designing custom user interfaces for client engagements
• Creating artwork in Illustrator, Photoshop, or Fireworks from scratch to supplement existing client artwork
• Adapting and optimizing client-supplied art assets for use in research exercises
• Managing the gathering of client art assets and consulting with clients to create representative concepts for testing
• Working closely with software developers to design, build, and implement new front end / back end solutions

Skills

Required experience:

5-7+ years of Web design experience
3+ years of Flash programming experience
Online Portfolio

Skills:

Proficiency in Flash, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop
Fluent coding of ActionScript by hand
Ability to code HTML and CSS by hand
Precision in layout and design
Solid understanding of cognitive usability theory and UI design

The following experience is helpful, but not required:

Product design
Package design
3D software such as Max, Maya, Solidworks, Studio etc.
Viewpoint, Wild Tangent or related 3D plug-in technology
Director/Shockwave and Lingo
Background in marketing, branding or copy-writing
Hands on Team leadership and management experience.


Ability to handle three or more time-sensitive projects simultaneously
A welcoming, cordial personality and a willingness to work directly with clients

Education:

BA in design or related field with a high academic achievement (GPA 3.5 +)
