Need IBM DB2 for AIX, and the relevant DB tools

Location: Garden City, NY

Length: 6 months with the option to extend

 

·        5+ years hands on experience of IBM DB2 for AIX, and the relevant DB tools are required. Knowledge and hands on experience of MS SQL Server are preferred,  knowledge of DB2 on mainframe is plus.

·        Hands on experiences on install and upgrade database software/patches/service packs/special builds for RDBMS and database tools.

·        Hands on experiences on database creation, replication, maintenance.

·        Hands on experiences on system and query performance tuning.

·        Work experience on daily system monitoring and auditing.

·        Experiences on ETL process, snapshots and data refreshing between production, QA, UAT and Dev platforms.

·        Apply the database object creation and changes with the conformation of the changing management regulations.

·        Work experience on setup, use and support database utilities including BACKUP, RESTORE, REORG, STATS, EXPORT, LOAD, EXPLAIN, EXPORT/IMPORT, BCP, INTEGRATED SERVICES.

·        Manage database user, resource profile, roles and security.

·        Design and implement data migration, archive techniques and procedures.

·        Prepare requirements analysis, Capacity Planning and Sizing of storage and memory usage for projects.

·        Promote database best practices, new features and mentor application developers and administrators.

·        Provide technical support to Users/Developers/Operations, and database guidance to managers, developers, and business users.
