Function as a skilled and expert Oracle Consultant for the purpose of migrating to Oracle Database Version 11.2g, assist in configuring the WebLogic 11g Application Server, and provide consulting expertise to assist in the evaluation, configuration, and utilization of the following new Oracle 11g modules:
• Oracle Advanced Compression
• Oracle Vault
• Oracle Change Management
• Oracle Tuning
• Database Design and Modeling Architecture
1. Tasks and Responsibilities
A. Verify the requirements of the infrastructure for the new oracle environment based on current workloads and needs of the environment and make recommendations if they are deficient.
B. Install and configure Oracle software and its new features.
C. Test the database server software and its new features to ensure that functionality, security, and workload needs meet departmental needs.
D. Assist with migration of the projects database from Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 to Oracle 11.2g.
E. Prepare technical documentation.
F. Other duties as assigned.
2. Staff Qualifications
The contractor shall provide qualified candidates who can complete the identified tasks within the SOW. Candidate resumes must show relevant experience and references. The client requires the contractors provide staff with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities for this project:
A. Ability to install and configure Oracle database on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to provide an environment to not only migrate the client's database, but also will allow scalability for future department needs.
B. Ability to install and configure Oracle database new features Oracle Advanced Compression, Oracle Vault, Oracle Change Management, Oracle Tuning and Database Design and Modeling Architecture.
C. Experience with database migration from Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 to Oracle 11.2g.
D. Prepare technical documentation.
E. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
F. As a member of a team, good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
