Position: QA Analyst

LOCATION: Piscataway, NJ

DURATION: 6 months

INTERVIEW:   poss. phone screen; face-to-face 

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

• Participate in requirements reviews to ensure user requirements are met by QA testing.
• Assist Project Manager in development of project plans; outlining QA tasks and time-lines.
• Develop software quality assurance plans for testing and verifying all Pub-Tech projects.
• Preparation and execution of test cases for Quality Assurance certification.
• Utilize defect management software (Quality Center) for requirement traceability and defect reporting.
• Analyze and report testing results, help with defect resolution, and recommend changes/solutions to development team.
• Actively participate in daily scrum meetings, release planning meeting, sprint planning meeting, sprint review meeting and retrospective meeting.
• Work with ScrumMaster to identify QA tasks and provide status updates.
• Build an automated framework for regression testing using Ruby.
• Build/update performance test scripts using LoadRunner.
• Ability to determine if required specifications have not been defined or inadequately defined.
• Works directly with all levels of management and professional staff to ensure accurate business application requirements are developed.
• Ability to deal effectively with people in contentious situations.
• Interacts on a daily basis with Senior Quality Assurance Analyst.
• Work with scrum tools Jira/Greenhopper to update the status of user stories/tasks during sprint.

Education: Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering. Experience:  5 to 7 years in a software development related field or in a software quality assurance related field. Use and knowledge of effective project management skills. Knowledge of quality assurance principles, and software development processes. Knowledge of test techniques and development environments for Web applications and client/server applications.
