Cognos developer Level 3
Washington, DC
6+ months

Rate 50$/hr. on c2c

Description:
This position will be responsible for designing and developing Cognos reports of moderate/high level of complexity, working with Framework Manager Models and problem resolution of existing reports. Work may include replicating police forms, creating statistical reports, creating scheduled reports and creating reports the user may run on demand. 

Demonstrated ability to work independently in a team-based environment; ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines; ability to work on several projects simultaneously. Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills in a team environment.

Required skills:
Experience with software maintenance, architecture, configuration and data migration

Expert understanding of relational database design and maintenance and SQL query languages

Expert Cognos BI development skills (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, PowerPlay)

Expert skills and experience with Cognos BI Administration

Expert skills and experience with Cognos Framework model development

Experience in designing, implementing logical data models

Expert understanding of Data Integration / Warehousing methodologies (preferably Informatica)

Experience in the development and support of reporting solutions using Cognos BI 10 as well as prior versions

Experience writing design specifications, developing models, framework manager packages, cubes and reports using Cognos BI.

Expert understanding of relational databases, like Oracle (11g and above) or SQL server is a plus

Extensive experience in upgrading, installing and configuring IBM Cognos products is required
