Job Title: Cloud Engineer/Provisioning Engineer
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6 month +
Job Description:
· Purpose: The purpose of this role is for defining, scoping and packaging software's and applications on the Operating Systems
· Working experience on software and application packaging and provisioning solutions (Puppet and Vagrant)
o Vagrant is free and open-source software for creating and configuring virtual development environments
o Puppet is an open source configuration management utility
· Experience in
· Experience on provisioning and deployment in large Enterprises
· Experience in creation, deployment and rollout of base OS images, software and application deployments
· Responsibilities: As a Cloud Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for building base OS images, packaging software's and applications using Puppet and Jenkins and deployment on new OS images
· The responsibility includes:
o Define, scope and build software/application packages
o Requirement analysis for deploying images on Cloud Platforms
o Building and implementing infrastructure tools, automating the deployment pipeline, and working with development teams to help build scalable software.
o Build and implement, test and benchmark the enterprise ready cloud systems (IaaS)
o Come up with new innovations on cloud based products
o Build and Operate private cloud infrastructures
· The candidate must possess knowledge and experience in various packaging solution like Puppet and Vagrant. Additionally Jenkins and others packaging and provisioning tools experience is welcome. Candidate should also have experience in deployment of end to end solutions on new engagements.
Skill and Requirements:
· 3-5+ years of experience
· Must have experience in Puppet and Vagrant
· Experience in Jenkins is welcome
· Must be able to directly communicate with developers on specifications and architecture required to support numerous deployments
· Proficient with deploying and managing systems utilizing Puppet (CFEngine and Chef experience is comparable)
· Knowledgeable with RedHat package management (rpm and yum, building rpms)
· Able to dissect an existing application stack and convert the configuration of the system and application into an automated process
