Title: Web Application Developer

Location: San Francisco, CA

Length: 1 Year+

 

 

Responsible for designing, writing and maintaining software applications, including developing written specifications, coding and unit testing.

 

Skills include: expertise in programming languages and experience of 6+ years. 5+ years in Web application front-end development and data visualization.

 

Objectives: • Utilize visual design techniques, tools and best practices to visualize large volumes of data in ways that facilitate decision-making by executive and senior management. • Work closely with the Data Science team to develop dashboard interfaces that allow internal and client users to interact with and discover new data insights. • Prototype visualizations and dashboard concepts as part of the iterative requirements development process.

 

Qualifications 5+ years in Web application front-end development and data visualization. Experience including: • Demonstrated capability with HTML5/CSS3. • Proven experience with the D3.js library and other visualization libraries and tools. (Visualize.js, Raphael.js, etc.) • Successful track record utilizing contemporary front-end JavaScript frameworks such as JQuery, Angular.js or Backbone.js. • Development with responsive design frameworks such as Bootstrap, Less or Foundation. • Implementing Web applications that use JSON/RESTful Web services. • Solid understanding MVC (Model-View-Controller) architecture. • Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues. • Browser-side performance optimization of Web applications. • Demonstrated design and UX capabilities.

 

Other desirable qualifications include experience with: • BI tools such as Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion, etc. • Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop. • Node.js. • Real-time data feeds. • XML-based SOAP services. • Git, Subversion or other contemporary source code management systems.
