Role: Hadoop Developer
Duration: 6+ months
Location: San Jose, CA
Description
Conducts analysis, designs products, and programs computer software that requires extensive research. Typical background for this position is advance study/knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development and methodologies. |
Project: This assignment involves the search engine team/search platform and the upgrading of Hadoop versions from Hadoop 1 to Hadoop 2.
Candidates should be comfortable with Java. Main task revolves around helping with the migration and detail work. Good communication skills are essential.
Must Have:
· Java programming skill
· Experience with distributed systems
· Experience with Java application performance tuning, JVM parameters
· Experience with analyzing system logs , good scripting skills
· Strong communication skills to work closely with Operations team
Preferred/Ideal:
· Hadoop and HBase experience
Task List for Hadoop Cluster Migration:
· Bootstrap production item/seller tables from production Titan cluster
· Set up regular run bulk indexing pipeline
· Tune the cluster for bulk indexing job SLA
· Test Bulk index distribution
· Test cluster stability under continuous load satisfying SLA
· Set up bulk data flows in new cluster
· Set up daemon polls in new cluster
