JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with extensive experience in workflow and business process design.

For new development efforts, define tool content & functional requirements:

  • Works with the customer to elucidate the root problem to be addressed so that the team can define a technical solution that maximally addresses the customer needs (not just the symptoms or solutions that the customer describes). 
  • Work with the UI/UX Designer to define system requirements for delivery to the technical team.
  • Works with the technical team to translate customer's desires into an optimally defined technical solution.
  • Produces clear functional and nonfunctional specifications to ensure success and traceability across the development cycle – design, development, QA and user acceptance.  Generates applicable artifacts such as: workflow diagrams, form specifications, business and authorization rules, and general application behavior.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree and 7+ years related experience in software development. 
  • Extensive experience with requirements gathering and developing functional specifications for transactional workflow-based systems. 
  • Must be detail oriented. 
  • Must be skilled at anticipating and minimizing issues with design, development, testing and implementation. 
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills required. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders and developers, translating both business and technical concepts for all members of the team. 
  • Presents a strong advocacy for the customer point-of-view.
  • You are a terrific communicator who builds rapport at all levels of the organization. 
  • You are talented at scheduling your work to meet key project milestones.
  • A flexible team player, you are optimistic, collaborative, take ownership, and embrace others' successes. 
  • Your experience with agile (scrum) methodologies is strongly preferred. 
  • You are proficient with ticketing systems such as JIRA, and tools for generating specification documents.
  • Your experience in a health-related and/or academic environment is strongly preferred. 
The development environment is Ruby on Rails—experience in that arena is a plus
