Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL  - Seattle, WA – or Glendale, CA

Description/Comment: Oversees the daily operations of the Unix/NT systems engineering function. May also be responsible for OS/390 function and staff. Builds, develops and manages all aspects of UNIX/NT computing. Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department.

Responsibilities: -Primary responsibilities include implementation and support for Internet based solutions developed for these business units. This includes any content delivery systems, hardware configuration, custom software implementation, database administration, network and systems design, performance and process improvement, and systems documentation. The ideal candidate would be proficient in systems management and application deployment automation through authoring and maintenance of Python, Perl, and shell scripting as well as experience implementing and maintaining enterprise configuration management solutions such as Chef. -This position is also responsible for planning and executing small-to-medium scale projects within the Technical Operations team. Typical projects would include new business unit initiatives and updates to existing products and services that require planning, incredible attention to detail, and flawless execution.

Basic Qualifications: 3 to 5 years of experience supporting and/or deploying internet-based products or services Intermediate to advance shell scripting skills Intermediate skills in Perl, Python or other programming languages Detailed knowledge of core internet and networking protocols including, but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP Exposure to configuration management frameworks such as Chef, Puppet, CFEngine Experience with enterprise layer 7 load balancers including F5 or Netscaler Expertise in configuration and management of one or more enterprise operating systems Experience in configuring, deploying, and supporting web server platforms including but not limited to Apache Traffic Server, Couchbase/Memcached, Tomcat, Apache, PHP, Zend.

Additional Information: Key to this role. SPLUNK support background that has strong "standard" system admin schools along with Chef Experience. Has to have significant operational experience supporting and even building-out Splunk for log monitoring
