Our Direct Client located in New York, New York is seeking a Data Analyst. The data analyst position will assist in solving organizational information problems and needs. The data analyst will be required to analyze business requirements; write queries and assist with the design of new or enhanced computer programs. This position acts to optimize the work of the assigned customer area through participating in business planning, needs analysis and business risk assessment, translating the business processes/requirements to technology requirements, and consulting with the customers on how to best support the business through the effective use of technology.
This position supports a development team and is responsible to translate business requirements into technical requirements work with the developers on the team to design and implement well-engineered, tested, and deployed business application systems. This includes the analysis, design, development, testing, installation, and maintenance of information systems.
Required Skills:
- Work with minimum supervision and provide unique insight in the analysis of customer business requirements that may cross multiple functional areas and/or multiple technical platforms that have broad strategic implications to the Client.
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Should be versatile and have decent experience with collection and analysis of complex data.
- Should have strong analytical skills and must have excellent SQL and query language ability.
- Must demonstrate expertise in reengineering and reconstructing queries using SQL in a distributed systems environment.
- Assist with designing new computer programs by analyzing business requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; and writing technical specifications.
- Must have excellent communication/ interpersonal skills to build good working relationships.
- Must be able to clearly explain technical details and requirements to developers and work in close collaboration with development staff.
- Should have the ability to work alone and also within a team.
- Should be active, self-motivated, quick learner, and an innovative person.
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in the field of Computer Science/Statistics / Mathematics/ Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 5 – 10 Years of Experience In Technical Analyst or Developer Role
- Expert level SQL query ability
