Java Developer, Malden, MA., 9 months +, Client will prefer candidates that can interview in person.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Executive Office of Education is seeking a Java Developer who has hands on experience with J2EE and web based enterprise applications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
•    Design, develop and implement J2EE based applications using Rational tools
•    Enhance existing J2EE application to add new functionality and to optimize them for performance
•    Provide day to day production systems support including trouble-shooting and fixing issues as they occur
•    Share knowledge and development techniques among the team
•    Document requirements for enhancement requests
•    Write technical specifications for all new development
•    Build code to production environment
•    Log bugs and communicate about application issues with other application developers
•    Prepare technical documentation on revised applications
•    Collaborate with other developers to ensure consistency with enterprise architecture and standards
•    Participate in discussions and decisions to shape future enterprise architecture
•    Participate in web sphere portlet development as required
•    Participate in web services development as required
•    Ability to adapt to new products as required
•    Perform other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
•    8 to 10 years of experience writing Java J2EE applications
•    At least one Front-End Web application frameworks: Apache Struts, JSF, Spring
•    At least one ORM: Hibernate/JPA, iBatis, EJB3.0
•    Database knowledge: SQL/PL-SQL experience, Oracle 10g
•    At least one Application Server: Weblogic, Websphere
•    XML processing experience such as XSD, XPath, XSL, XSLT
•    Working knowledge of Javascript as well as Jquery
•    Hands on experience on HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design
•    Experience in Agile development methodology and good understanding of Agile principles
•    Ability to code web pages in a cross browser compliant manner
•    Ability to code web pages so that are accessible to people with disabilities aka ADA compliant web applications 
•    Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical audience 
•    Solid understanding of Enterprise design patterns
•    Multi-tiered application design and development 
•    Demonstrated analytical skills
•    Ability to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions to attain desired results
•    Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
•    Demonstrated discipline, self-reliance, dependability, and good judgment.
•    Ability to independently own, design, write and test quality code, as well as function effectively in a team environment
•    Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
•    Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
