·         Description :

This engineer will take a significant role in:
• Enhancing and supporting our build environment (both unix and windows) in Perl & Python. Automate hardware capability planning through smart data collection and automatic analysis. 
(Solid experience with designing and writing sophisticated automation in perl is required)
• Managing Build & Release Operations & automate the manual daily system tasks via Jenkins

• Providing a variety of development tools (JIRA, Bit Bucket/GIT, Fisheye, Crucible) to support the engineering community

This position is for someone with a desire to work in a "multi-hat" role -- developer, system administrator, support engineer (internal). This is a highly visible position that will give the right person the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our infrastructure while working on a variety of tools and projects. 

This person will be the point of contact for the local internal customers during US Pacific timezones and will also have cross-functional responsibilities with the corporate teams across the development sites of NetApp spread across geographical locations including RTP, Bangalore, PTC.

Essential Functions:

·         This engineer will take a significant role in the support and improvement of engineering's software tools. They will enhance and support our automated build infrastructure (written in-house in perl) & upgrade it to modern CI environment via Jenkins, and our source control system (Perforce/GIT). The successful individual will have prior experience developing, maintaining, and supporting automated infrastructures written in Perl/Python, on both UNIX and Windows

·         Candidates must have a solid background in development methodologies and software tools development. 5 years of industry

·         experience in a related field is required. The candidate must have UNIX experience and demonstrated skills in writing software tools

·         (preferably in Perl or UNIX shell script).

·         Experience with the Jenkins & CI build environment would be a big plus. Strong communication skills are required.
