My direct client is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer for their location in Middletown, NJ. This is a 6+ Months contract position.
About the position
You will have an opportunity to work with us in supporting one of the largest Telecom Service Provider in North America to launch new services using Virtualized Network Functions in cloud, powered by OpenStack. These projects will transform the way they operate on a day to day basis.
Responsibilities
Work with one of our most innovative customers to package and test software
Work with cutting edge technologies such as Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software Defined Networking (SDN), OpenStack and Cloud
Draw from your expertise and train others on the project
Package and test the software solution
Build automation, continuous integration, delivery and deployment
Test automation
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with different levels within the organization, as well as with the business and other technical teams. You just get it, and are great at communicating it!
Excellent organizational skills. Not saying you always have to have your pens lined up in a perfect line, but you have a talent for knowing what's going, what needs done next, and what the priorities are.
One of your strengths is keeping your cool in stressful situations, and sometimes do some of your very best work under pressure.
Requirements
Minimum 9 years of related experience.
BS/MS in computer science or engineering degree
Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
Extensive background in software packaging and testing skills
Strong skills required in: Angular JS, Chef, Jenkins, SWM, GUI development, Python/Unix
These additional skills are a plus: Experience with Ansible, Puppet or other deployment/provisioning tools; monitoring tools like NewRelic, Graphite, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.; Experience with centralized logging services (ELK, SumoLogic, Loggly, Splunk…)
