Job Title: Contract IT Project Manager

Location: Rockville, MD (Local Only)

Duration: 6+ Months (minimum)

Must be Local to MD/VA/DC

Must be 10 years

The IT Project Manager manages project schedules, tracks deliverables, and coordinates project logistics and meetings for assigned IT projects. The individual in this position serves as a partner to the IT organization (including Assoc. Director, IT Project & Portfolio Management and CIO & VP, IT) and to functional leaders at the client site.

 

Primary Responsibilities

·         Develop project scope and schedules, including the identification and incorporation of project dependencies and constraints

·         Manage project schedules for assigned projects

·         Facilitate project  meetings, documenting meeting decisions, risks, action items and outcomes

·         Communicate project milestones to project teams and key stakeholders

·         Lead cross-functional teams in identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks, ensuring accountability and action across project teams

·         Drive consistent delivery by monitoring key deliverables, risks, milestones, project dependencies, and actions

 

Job Requirements

1.       Education and Training

1.       Bachelor's degree (BA) in Information Technology, Business or related field.

2.       Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, including general information technology and project experience.

 

B. Skills/Previous Experience

1.       Experience managing IT projects. 

2.       Experience managing multiple, competing priorities and projects.

3.       MS Project skills to create and maintain detailed schedules following industry best practices, including appropriate use of predecessors and successors, task types, constraints and work effort; create milestone reports, timeline views and dynamic schedules to actively manage project work

4.       MS Excel skills: ability to create and use Excel reports to manage and report information

5.       MS Power Point skills: ability to create persuasive, professional presentations, including the importing of data from other applications such as Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word

6.       Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus
