JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Software Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing test automation using mobile native test tool as well as enhancing/maintaining existing automation framework to support functional, integration and regression testing activities across all clients platforms.
  • Primary responsibility of this role is to develop automated test solutions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of clients Applications software.
  • You will write automated test code using Java programming language or similar and rely on your deep understanding of Appium or similar framework.
  • You will design tests, drive test implementation, execute tests, analyze pass rate and feature coverage and work with core automation team members to deliver quality product on time.
  • Design and implement re-usable Mobile Automation test framework using Appium or similar tools.
  • Analyze, plan and implement test automation standards and strategies.
  • Design and implement modular and reusable automated testing solutions that satisfy testing requirements.
  • Develop custom function libraries and utilities to support reuse and maintainability of automated testing solutions.
  • Build and maintain automated test cases using Java, Python or similar programming language.
  • Create and make enhancements to the Automation Framework.
  • Understand feature requirements and can quickly translate them to automated test cases.
  • Research new testing technologies, develop cutting-edge automation and provide product enhancements and/or recommendations.
  • Perform Mobile test task estimation, test execution, automated regression testing and functional testing.
  • Expertise in testing mobile applications in native Android mobile products (Tablets).
  • Define and communicate the accurate automation test plan/test scripts and provide qualitative and quantitative status/defect reports.
  • Track & analyze test results and work closely with the developers to isolate and reproduce defects.
  • Troubleshooting Android Apps – verifying reported customer issues, identifying their underlying cause and seeing them through to resolution, liaising with development and product management teams, where appropriate.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in embedded software program functions, outputs, online screens, and content.
  • Conducts compatibility tests with other software programs, hardware, multiple operating systems, and network environments.
  • Train QA Analysts on how to record and execute Automated Scripts using already built automated solution.
  • Interact closely with members of the cross-functional team for project success.
  • Lead external teams to help build automation tools, including selected vendors.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • 3-4+ years of hands-on, demonstrable Selenium/ Appium experience testing mobile (Android) applications.
  • Experience in test automation framework like Appium, Selenium or robot.
  • Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages: C, C++, Python, C#, Groovy, Java is preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of core Java experience (Design Patterns, OOP etc.).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with one or more mobile development and emulator packages (Android SDK, iOS XCode, SWIFT, etc.).
  • Exposure to development or test automation tools/frameworks (e.g. Appium, Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium Grid, Junit, SOAP-UI, Eclipse, Bamboo, Ant, Maven, Visual Studio, HP ALM/QTP, etc.).
  • 2-3+ years of experience working with Git and continuous integration tools (Bamboo or Jenkins).
  • 2-3+ years of strong, demonstrable experience creating and designing tests using REST API.
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SQL.
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • 2 years of experience working within Agile environment. Familiarity and understanding of Agile SDLC.
  • Critical thinking and change agility.
  • Ability to systemically approach strategic planning.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments.
  • Passion and experience for maintaining a high-quality bar and ownership.
  • Comfortable and effective communicating with both technical and non-technical leaders verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines in a changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks and strong attention to detail in all facets of work.
  • Experience working with nearshore/offshore team(s).
  • Experience with JIRA and Atlassian tool is preferred.
