Job Description –  

Walmart is seeking mid-to-senior level Data Analytics / Data Science consultants to support high-impact forecasting and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidates will have deep SQL expertise, strong experience with BI tools (Looker/Tableau), and a solid grasp of the full lifecycle behind open-source model development, even if they are not building models from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large-scale data analysis
• Build and maintain insightful dashboards in Looker and/or Tableau
• Support development and refinement of forecasting models, collaborating with DS teams
• Demonstrate a full understanding of open-source model creation, including structure, training, and deployment processes
• Align data and analytics workflows with DS operating models
• Work cross-functionally to translate business needs into analytical solutions

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Analytics or Data Science roles
• Advanced proficiency in SQL – must be able to work independently on complex datasets
• Strong hands-on experience with Looker and/or Tableau
• Solid understanding of open-source forecasting and predictive modeling workflows
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams or integrating with DS pipelines
• Familiarity with enterprise-level DS operating models
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present insights to stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience in large retail or eCommerce environments
• Familiarity with Python or R for analysis (even if not coding daily)
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
