Sr. Java/Scala Developer Job description:

Sr. Java/Scala Developer would work in an engaging environment at the intersection of business and technology, at both strategic and operational level Seeking experienced Sr. developer with strong java or Scala experience and understanding of big data Ecosystem and Hadoop components including the HDFS, Hive, HBase, Spark. The Sr. Developer will be responsible for leading, designing, coding, and tuning data service solutions within Hadoop Works cross-functionally with IT, engineering and business teams to develop proactive data services and workflow solutions.

 

Desired Skills:

-At least 3 years of solid hands on experience with Java or Scala

-Extensive SQL and database skills to deep dive into data

-Experience in designing scalable systems

-Experience in data management and architecture in Teradata, and Hadoop tools and technologies.  Hive, HBase, NiFi, Kafka, Spark, NoSQL DB, or other messaging tools - with hands on experience - a plus

-Experience in data management for high performance on large Hadoop clusters

-Strong understanding of Hadoop architecture, storage and IO subsystems, network and distributed systems

-Strong experience in data management and architecture in RDBMS.  SQL based tools - with hands on experience

-Strong experience in real time data acquisition in a data warehouse environment

-Knowledge of operating system concepts – Multi threading / concurrency

-Debugging & troubleshooting the real-time issues

-Solid development skills in JavaScript / java or Scala or Python

-Strong knowledge of scripting with shell scripting (Bash, PHP, PERL, Python, etc.)

-Experience with versioning, change control and problem management

-Understanding of big data platform architecture

-Experience in working in Agile environment

-Good communication and presentation skills
