Position: IT Security Analyst / Architect

Location : Burbank, CA

Duration : 6 plus months

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 
• Over 10-12 years of experience in Information Technology 
• AWS Certification is a plus 
• Over 4+ years of experience with AWS cloud computing 
• Over 3+ years of AWS Serverless architecture and hands-on development 
• Experience with enterprise grade implementations 
• Experience with RDBMS, Data warehousing environments 
Skill, Experience & General information required: 
• Strong understanding of the entire AWS Product and Service Suite ( Ec2, S3, VPC, CloudFormation, RDS, Lambda, Redshift, EMR, SQS, SNS, Kinesis) of products and their applicable use cases, best practices and implementation and support considerations. 
• Working experience with Serverless Technologies such as; AWS, Google, Cloud, MS Azure or other widely used Cloud Platform. 
• Experience working in an Agile Development Software environment. 
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools: Splunk, AWS, CloudWatch 
• Multiple years application development experience with Enterprise Java 
• Multiple year application development experience with Python 
• Required Strong understanding of Serverless Compute, Security, Transactional Processing, and High Resiliency. 
• In depth knowledge of the AWS cloud computing platform, its many services and dimensions of scalability - including but not limited to: Step Functions, Lambda, S3 (Object Storage), VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), EC2, EBS (Block Storage under high I/O), ELB/Elastic Beanstalk (load-balancing and autoscaling), SQS(messaging), Cloud Formation for AWS Orchestration, Alternative Queuing Platforms, CloudWatch and RedShift. 
• Strong knowledge of : REST, JSON, SWAGGER, APIs, Micro-Services, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Nodejs Agile/Scrum, Jira, Iterative, Team Development 
• Track record of designing and implementing enterprise applications Serverless Compute, Security, Transactional Processing, and High Resiliency. 
• Strong knowledge of Database and Database development tools: MySQL, PostgreSQL , AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, Oracle 
• Experience working with automation tools, Cloud management tools 
• Knowledge of federated authentication and authorization models 
• Cloud methodologies and architecture (IaaS, PaaS), automation, orchestration 
• Proficient in Python programming for Lambda and CI/CD related scripting. 
• Experience working with AWS CLI a plus 
Basic Technical Requirements 
• Actively participated in sprint and daily status calls to discuss on the progress of the work and various issues which came across during integration. 
• AWS Cloud Skills : Cloud Formation Templates, AWS Lambda (Python, Java, Node.js), EC2, IAM, Roles, Policies, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, Networking (VPC, NACL, Subnet), RDS, EMR, ECS, Kinesis 
• Big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or database skills a plus 
• Experience or knowledge of AWS Serverless Architectures & Development/Operations a plus

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Senior hires will be entrusted with broad decision-making responsibility concerning infrastructure, deployment, scale, access control, continuous integration and much, much more. This is unique opportunity to shape DevOps processes for a growing company in an exciting intersection between Information Security (InfoSec) and Blockchain technology.
• We need to securely provision, revoke and manage secrets: SSH & API keys, Ethereum wallets and more. These secrets are used in various contexts by our various projects. How do we provision access in a seamless manner that scales with the number of authentication methods a given individual requires?
• Is a blue/green paradigm best for deploying (and upgrading) various test networks ("testnets") used for onboarding security experts to our platform? These testnets run Ethereum chains & isolated IPFS nodes, among other things. If this paradigm is desirable, how do we best go about implementing it?
• We need to manage access and load balance requests across various testnets & "sidechains" with partially overlapping user sets. It would be great if this load balancing was hidden behind a single highly available REST endpoint and traffic was routed to the correct place based on the URI e.g. GET /<testnet_id>/<artifact_id>. How should we load balance such requests, handle authorization and ensure the availability of the endpoint?
• Our build process for release binaries is manual at the moment. We'd like to produce Electron applications for Windows, macOS and Linux automatically, tied to our CI process and specific branch naming convention. How do we best accomplish this? How should we best manage CI processes across multiple OSes?
• Tools / technologies / services in use include: Docker, Docker Compose, Docker Hub, Terraform, GitLab CI, DigitalOcean, AWS, Azure, NGINX
• Independently motivated & self-directing
• Introspective: able to identify weak spots / problem areas our existing processes or code and suggest / implement solutions
• Takes an interest in information security topics - huge props for Capture the Flag (CTF) participation!
• Holds at least a BS in Computer Science or related field
• (Senior level): 5+ years of relevant work experience
