Position: System Engineer

Location: Hoffman Estates, IL

Duration: 3+ Months

Rate: DOE

Interview: Immediate

 

Description:

Provides technical and consulting leadership to a medium team of systems developers and other project staff. Reviews plans, requirements, designs and code for appropriateness and provides suggestions for improvement, actively participates in the integration, testing and troubleshooting of teams' products using internal tests on location and at customer test sites.  Acts as a key resource in problem identification and working it to resolution.  Develops requirements, designs and implantations and tests the critical system software products to meet product requirements.  Provides leadership in defining and improving Client's processes and standards to ensure the quality of internal and client documentation.  Provides accurate estimates and status to management, raising issue appropriately.  Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Skills Required:

- 5 years progressive experience in managing a large VMware conversion

- In-depth Knowledge of VMware architecture

- Hands-on experience with V-motion, ESX and other virtual management s/w

- Bachelors degree (CS,ENGG or EQUI.)

- In-depth understanding of datacenter hosting environments, and LAN/WAN

- Experience deploying/supporting Windows, MS SQL Server, and VMware.ESX

- Extensive experience with Microsoft Clustering

- Ability to design and build an Active Directory infrastructure

- Proficiency in DNS, DHCP and other naming services

- In-depth Knowledge of disk management with SAN, NAS and local storage
