Technical Consultant is a SME in the technology being deployed. He/she will have deep knowledge of infrastructure setup and will drive the integration of the new system/platform into Shell's IT landscape. This includes knowledge of authentication protocols, network dependencies, Active Directory footprint and other necessary integration requirements. For the application or technology being developed / deployed, the Technical Consultant typically performs the following:
 
• Analysis of and at times support in developing the Technical Design
• Independent Testing from PoC through to UAT
• Advising the Configuration of Digital Workspace, Collaboration, Unified Communications and Audio-Visual solutions
• Working with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to translate end user requirements into Technical Design Specifications
Specific Tasks
1. Responsible for understanding business requirements and delivering specific infrastructure systems, applications and designs for large complex IT solutions that comply with Shell’s underlying technical operating environments.
2. Apply skills to develop and deliver technical solutions in your area of expertise
3. Maintaining a broad knowledge and integrated view of current practice and developments within own area(s) of systems expertise and related areas of networks and applications
4. Adopt and cross skill with other technical verticals as needed to integrate solutions into Shell (eg security, IAM, operational, cloud, networks)
5. Co-ordinating or leading the design activity (low or high level) working effectively with Solution Architects, Suppliers, Customers and SMEs.
6. Working with various stake holders Portfolio, Architects, Vendors, IRM, Cyber Defence, Security Team to ensure solution is secure by design and fit for purpose.
7. Follow Agile methodology for implementation of project.
8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Platforms and Infrastructure team 
Skills & Experience:
In-depth knowledge of specific area related to role. Ability to quickly onboard which will require excellent communication skills for a heavily matrixed environment. Skill and knowledge across the technical, operational and project spheres. An ability to work independently to make things happen as well as being a keen team member. An ability to clearly communicate technology concepts and information across different stakeholder groups. Requires a multifaceted individual who understands technology architecture across a broad spectrum of areas like network, server and desktop/mobile infrastructures.
Years of Experience required: 10+
Skills and abilities -Must Have (AV Role
· Discuss technology options/solutions and best practices with Stakeholders and end-users to help in defining and documenting requirements.
· Create and present High level AV solution concepts and costing based on collected requirements and room specifications.
· Create low level AV design documentation covering: Floorplans, Elevations, Schematics, Cable sheets, Bill of Material, IP/IT device info overview
· Create, execute and manage FAT/SAT/UAT test scripts for large scale AV deployments.
· Deploy AV on a managed network to scale (standard, advanced & high end collaboration)
· Understand benefits of AV standardization and being able to convey that message to stakeholders. 
· Design, setup, and execute Proof of Concept for next generation AV solution concepts
· Design & specify Audio Visual platforms specifically: Cisco, Polycom, Microsoft Teams Rooms
· Sound knowledge on AV products line from different manufacturers E.g. Crestron, Extron, Shure, QSC and other OEM’s.
· Experience with EASE acoustic modelling software, Smart Live, other testing tools and AutoCAD, Visio, MS Excel, MS Project.
· An interest in areas of technology innovation and potential areas of service differentiation (eg AV over IP)
· Certifications: Dante L1, QSC Architect

1. Technical Project management
2. Business Analysis competencies
3. A certification (eg. AVIXA CTS, Dante L2, Brand certs etc)
4. ITIL/Scrum
