he Sr. Software Engineer will perform analysis and design programming and modifications of computer programs for software applications and customer applications.

 

Responsibilities

·         Perform complex analysis, design, programming and modifications of computer programs for software 

·         Write detailed specifications, write code, complete programming, testing and debugging of applications

·         Document forms, procedures and other documentation needed for the installation and maintenance of application programs 

·         May be required to be on-call

Set high standards for others to follow

·         Ability to explain concepts with technical and non-technical staff

·         Works effectively with all co-workers; team player 

·         Communicates effectively and in a professional manner

·         May provide technical and project leadership and assist in training less experienced analysts/programmers

·         Assigned work involves broad range of complex design and programming.  Provides input to technology strategy 

·         Ability to meet heavy deadlines and may be subject to heavy workloads

·         Other duties as assigned

Requirements

·         In-depth knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring and Struts MVC frameworks, JSP, Web Services, Oracle relational database

·         In-depth knowledge of client/server computer environment and the ability to design solutions which make the best use of architecture being employed by Railinc or Railinc customers

·         IBM MQ messaging experience is desired

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field strongly desired

·         Minimum of five to eight years of technical experience

·         Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously
