Job Description:

A large financial services provider based in Winston-Salem, NC is in need of a SAS Business Analyst with exposure to SAS programming to translate their existing SAS programs into user requirements. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing the code, inputs, outputsand providing analysis, documentation, and updates to the customer. The consultant will work as part of the customer's technical team and take direction from the end-customer.   Strong communication, written, teaming, and coaching skills are required as well as being adept at understanding the client's business process and requirements that drive the usage of the SAS programs.  Must be an independent learner and enjoy digging into SAS programs/processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires using BASE SAS and documenting requirements from existing SAS Applications written by other developers.

 

Serve as a Business Analyst that is skilled with BASE SAS andtranslating the SAS code for the client project manager and technical community.  Provide documentation of the technical capabilities of the existing SAS code, mapping the capabilities to business user requirements, and supporting the information need of the client's conversion project. Prepare ad-hoc reporting request, documentation, and diagrams as requested

 

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing large, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics - intensive discipline, or an applicable training certificate from an accredited training institution.

 

Proficiency Requirements:

(1)  Consultant must have proficiency in PC SAS and demonstrate prior experience of maintaining applications in a SAS environment

(3)  Consultant must have proficiency in interpersonal, oral, and written communications

(4)  Consultant must have proficiency in documenting requirements and analyzing SAS programs and working with end-users to validate requirements

(5)  Consultant should be very knowledgeable in SAS programming, including:  SAS Macro programming, Proc SQL and SAS reporting and summary procedures.

(6) Strong independent worker that is able to take little direction and deliver results required by the client

 

PRIMARY SKILL SET:

 Review and translation of existing SAS code and translating the code into business requirements and documenting the processes. Experience with analyzing SAS code to derive end-user requirements supporting data transformation and reporting processes.  Consultant must have project documenting experience.

a.   Serve as a Senior SAS Business Analyst with a solid experience in:

·        SAS programming

·        Capturing and documenting requirements

·        Using documentation standards for technical requirements – Technical Writer

·        Data management

·        data quality analysis,

·        performing complex analytics and reporting

·        development and interpretation of business requirements documentation, use cases,

process specifications and functionality documentation
