Job Title: PET Software Engineer
Location :
GC or US Citizen only
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Work with a cross functional team consisting of team/program lead, technical leaders, PET domain experts, PET systems engineers & service engineers and other software engineers to maintain software modules, address installed base product quality issues for various GE PET product lines. You will :
- Gather and analyze installed base issue, identify problem domain and perform impact analysis
- Identify fix/solution and low-level designs as applicable;
- Develop and integrate software platform/application components into the system in accordance with the software development policies and procedures.
- Perform verifications at component, sub-system levels; assist in system level verifications and regressions as required.
- Document requirements, designs, verifications and other key development activities in accordance with established GE Healthcare and local quality processes.
- Interact with NPL teams and promote consistency in development practices, tools and methods and maximize synergies with common software platforms.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related computer field.
2. Demonstrated proficiency (5+ years) in C/C++, c-shell, Perl and Java programming in UNIX environment.
3. Familiarity with industry software development practices, tools and environments
a. Software development lifecycle from requirements to system integration.
b. Configuration Management systems – Concepts and tools: ClearCase or equivalent
c. Defect tracking tools and processes – Concepts and tools: ClearQuest or equivalent.
d. Shell scripting – Concepts and tools: bash shell or equivalent.
e. Software Builds – Concepts and tools: Imake/make or equivalent.
4. Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills.
5. Self-directed, good work ethic, ability to work with teams
Preferred Qualifications:
6. Prior GE experience Big Plus
7. Experience software development in Diagnostic/Interventional medical device industry.
8. Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Programming (OOP) concepts and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
9. Experience in software platform, advanced applications, user-interface design and/or systems engineering.
10. Understanding of automated testing methodologies and experience with tools.
11. Strong verbal & written communication and influencing skills.
