The position is for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in the Information Technology – Systems Development group. As a Software Engineer in Test, you will architect and develop test automation frameworks for our development teams. We expect the work will require technical work, including an understanding of architectures, identifying high risk application areas, and designing test plans for appropriate functional and load/performance testing. We’re looking for someone with software engineering skills, systematic thinking, analytical and problem solving skills, as well as the innovation, creativity, and serious hard work to make our products successful. You’ll work with our agile development teams and other software engineers who happen to love the challenge of writing software that pushes developers’ code to its limits. Your goal will be to help us ship software of proven quality that delights our customers.

 

Consultant Responsibilities:

• Design and build automated software test frameworks for our applications

• Define, architect and guide product testing processes

• Plan and run functional automation tests, load/performance tests, integration tests, and regression tests

• Achieve delivery and quality milestones

• Write test code in C# that is object oriented and easy to maintain

 

 

To be successful the ideal candidate must be:

• Smart enough to see when mistakes are happening before any code has been written

• Tenacious about tracking bugs down to the line of code or change set

• Fast enough to keep up with excellent developers

• Devoted to stay on the cutting edge of software development in QA

• Able to effectively communicate with developers and other technical team members as well as business and domain experts

 

Technical Skills:

• 2+ Years’ experience programming in C# or similar OOP language

• 2+ Years’ experience writing SQL queries of moderate complexity

• 2+ Years’ experience designing and developing automated test frameworks using C# and/or Selenium with Specflow or nUnit

• Experience with Agile testing practices is preferred; specifically Behavior Test Case writing, User story acceptance criteria writing, acceptance criteria scenario writing, story maps and other testing tactics

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio applications

• Excellent communication skills

 

Professional Skills:

• General knowledge of build process and application server deployment activities

• Proven ability to focus on risk based testing and coverage

• Strong skills for managing scripts and automating data driven tests

• Proven ability to learn new, complex financial applications quickly

• Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment and has experience in Agile or iterative software development is a plus

• Experience in financial services and/or investment management, a strong plus

• Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker
